The Thread extension.

It's what lets Thread see the AI conversations you're already having, so the thinking you do there doesn't get stranded in a dead chat.

Install the Mac app first — the extension pairs with it. Cursor and other Mac tools are captured natively, no extension needed. Get Thread for Mac

• Captures the idea you're developing — its formulation and how it evolves — while you talk to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity. On any other site, select a conversation and right-click “Capture in Thread”.
• Connects to Thread for Mac automatically on the same machine. No keys to paste.
• A quiet nudge to pick a thread back up when you return to a site with unfinished thinking.
• Not needed for AI tools that live on your Mac. Thread for Mac reads Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Copilot Chat, Jan, Ollama and LM Studio directly from their history on your machine — read-only, each with its own switch in Settings.

The extension runs only on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity — and reads a selection elsewhere only when you right-click it. It sends what it captures to your Thread account and talks to nothing else. What happens to that text from there is on the privacy page.
